Assuming the team have not been tasked to an incident, simulated exercises take place throughout the day.

During the morning brief, the team may talk through potential problems that may occur inflight, by using a randomised emergency machine that throws up a scenario such as a fire in the engine. Later in the day, they also perform a clinical simulation using state-of- the-art manikins which can be pre-programmed to display a number of different symptoms. Depending on the simulation scenario, the crew can also access other props such as a crashed aircraft fuselage and an off-the-road car.
