Alan Leslie West

Alan West, originally from Worthing, was a most loyal husband for 61 years to Jenny, who he cared for latterly.

He was the best Dad to daughter Sally and her husband Tim and encouraging Grandad to James and Alice. 

He will be sorely missed not only by the family but by all who he came into contact with. Former Landlord of the Stalbridge Arms, he was Life President of Stalbridge Short Mat bowling club and member of Stalbridge British Legion.

A very active and sporting man throughout his life, Alan was a life long supporter of Brighton and Hove Albion football club from his native Sussex days.

Jennifer Mary West

Jenny, originally from Worthing, West Sussex was married for 61 years.to her beloved Alan, before losing him in September.

She was best friend and Mum to Sally.  Loved by Tim, Sally’s husband; and a special Nanny to James and Alice.

Jenny was loved by all that she met and the most loyal friend to those close to her. She was so very kind hearted and always happy to support everyone around her.

Landlady at the Stalbridge Arms which she owned with Alan until 2000, latterly she was a member of Stalbridge WI and Stalbridge Short Mat Bowls, until her health meant it wasn’t easy to attend.

Jenny had roots in West Sussex and along with Alan was an ardent follower of Brighton and Hove Albion FC and Sussex County Cricket Club.

Rest in peace now, Mum; together now with Dad xx
