    1. How To Help
    2. Volunteer

    Volunteer

Please note that due to the current situation with COVID-19, we are not recruiting volunteers at this time.

Volunteering enables supporters to become more involved with a charity that is close to their heart. It gives people the opportunity to make friends, to learn new skills and to represent the Charity in a more formal way.

People donate their time for a number of reasons, but the most common is: personal satisfaction, to do something worthwhile, to be active or to have social contact.

We have an amazing team of volunteers who work incredibly hard on our behalf. Together they cover 2,636 square miles between them. That’s a big challenge as you can imagine!

    Collection Box Servicer

Have you seen our collection boxes often located on the counter of retail outlets, businesses and clubs across the two counties? These are an important part of our fundraising and every penny or pound popped inside the box really does make a big difference.

We are looking for volunteers to help us service our existing boxes (on a rotational basis or as requested by the box holder or the Charity), and/or volunteers to help us find new outlets willing to hold a box on our behalf. Full training will be provided as there are certain procedures that must be followed for this important role; it’s also a great opportunity for you to get out there and meet new people on a regular basis.

    Event Representative

Events come in different shapes and sizes; many that we attend are in aid of the Charity, whilst others are where we are invited to have a presence. One thing is certain, we simply wouldn’t be able to attend the number we do, without our amazing team of volunteers.

We use these opportunities to sell our official Charity merchandise, hand out literature, chat to members of the public, raise funds and awareness of the work we do in the local community. Being an event representative can also include transporting, setting up and dismantling Charity equipment. Many of the events take place at weekends, so if you like getting out and about, this could be right up your street!

    Public Speaker

Are you passionate about the work of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance? Do you have experience of public speaking or would you like to develop skills in this area?

We are looking for volunteers to assist us in spreading the word about our Charity to local community groups, organisations, schools and businesses and are looking for confident individuals to help us. Full training will be provided as well as opportunities to observe talks before deciding if the role is for you.

By becoming a Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Volunteer you can expect to have an exceptional support team who will encourage and support you in every way. We can also guarantee that you will meet some extraordinary people.

Go on – Make a Difference and call us today on: 01823 669604 or email: [email protected].
