How To Help Volunteer Volunteer Volunteering enables supporters to become more involved with a charity that is close to their heart. It gives people the opportunity to make friends, to learn new skills and to represent the Charity in a more formal way. People donate their time for a number of reasons, but the most common is: personal satisfaction, to do something worthwhile, to be active or to have social contact. We have an amazing team of volunteers who work incredibly hard on our behalf. Together they cover 2,636 square miles between them. That’s a big challenge as you can imagine and we urgently need others to join us. We are currently looking for volunteers in the West Bay, Lyme Regis, Charmouth and Bridport areas of Dorset for the following roles: Collection Box Servicer This role entails: Responsibility for placing new collection boxes into retail outlets, businesses and clubs within an area as allocated by the Charity, servicing collection boxes on a rotation basis or as requested by the box holder or Charity (minimum 6 monthly), issuing receipts as per Charity procedures, completion of paperwork as per Charity procedures, adhering to Charity health and safety procedures. Skills required: Excellent people skills Outgoing, friendly and proactive Excellent communication skills Basic administration skills VOLUNTEER AS A COLLECTION BOX SERVICER Event Representative This role entails: Attending events to sell official Charity merchandise (if appropriate), transporting, setting up and dismantling Charity equipment (if required), receiving and holding stock from DSAA office, stock control, interacting with the public and potential supporters, distributing Charity literature and promotional items, accepting donations on behalf of the Charity, banking monies as required, completing paperwork in line with Charity procedures, adhering to Charity health and safety procedures.
