What We Do The Facts The Facts Public support has enabled us to do many great things, above all, it has helped us to save and improve thousands of patients’ lives. In the last six years, the number of patients in need of our service has quadrupled in size; we have been tasked to over 16,000 incidents, with more than 2,000 of these being last year alone. When patients are critically ill or injured, a key element in their survival is arriving at a hospital with the specialist expertise to enable immediate life-saving care. Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance plays a key role in this chain of survival as our clinical team stabilise patients whilst the aviation team enable vast distances to be travelled rapidly. Every mission and every life depends on the generosity of people like you so on behalf of the patients that need us, thank you so much! Find out more information about how our clinical and aviation team have continued to provide pre-hospital critical care, for 19 hours per day, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
