Patient and Family Liaison Support Clinicians

Location: Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, Henstridge, Somerset.

    Salary: £40,057 - £45,839 PA

We have an exciting opportunity for additional DSAA Patient and Family Liaison Support Clinicians (PFLSC) to join an established team of two others, to support patients and their families to understand their complex critical illness or injuries, including their pathway of pre-hospital critical care, anaesthesia and pathway through hospital. They will facilitate communication links with other similarly injured patients to enable peer support from individuals who have experienced similar life events.

A detailed working knowledge and experience in advanced Critical Care practice is required for this role. Specifically, the ability to analyse and interpret complex clinical and non-clinical facts in a range of settings in order to meet the ongoing needs of patients and families is crucial.

The PFLSC role hours are negotiable and can be taken on a part time basis alongside an existing clinical role. The regions covered will be split amongst the team with a focus on the North or South of our patch.

    Assessment and Interview

The assessment day will be on either the 20th or 21st June at Henstridge.

The interview will be on either the 14th or 15th of July at the charity’s head office in Wellington or at Henstridge.

    How to Apply

For more information and to apply, visit South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust’s website.

Closing date for applications is 27th May.

Have you considered becoming a volunteer?

We are always grateful to those who are able to give the 'gift of time' and volunteer for the Charity.

Our volunteers perform a wide range of duties on behalf of the Charity, including giving talks, supporting events, manning information/merchandise stalls and assisting with the management of collection boxes distributed across both counties.

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) is a registered charity, established to provide relief from sickness and injury for the people of Dorset and Somerset, by the provision of an air ambulance.

I’m supporting DSAA as they receive no direct funding from the Government or the National Lottery and rely on the generosity of the public for support. Their operational costs are over £5 million a year and the approximate cost per mission is £3,000.
