Pure Punjabi in Tintinhull, South Somerset is organising a spectacular charity food event on Sunday 27th August, with an aim of raising £3,000 for Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.

The Langar charity food event will be held at Pure Punjabi’s cookery school, where they will prepare a communal North Indian feast for a very special Sunday lunch. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased via their website: www.purepunjabi.co.uk (£10 from every ticket sold will come to DSAA).

Surinder Hothi-Bellamy, Founding Director of Pure Punjabi, said:

For over 10 years we have wanted to do a food event based upon the principles of Langar and Seva from the Sikh religion. This exceptional system works upon the goodwill and kindness to strangers, selfless service and community spirit to give food and sustenance to anyone in need, no matter what their religion or ethnicity. This is a system based entirely upon volunteers and community support and so we are delighted to find a similar volunteering system, but one that goes above and beyond, into the realm of the saving of people’s lives!
