Bill Sivewright, our current Chief Executive Officer is retiring in June after 11 successful years in post. To ensure a seamless transition, a search for Bill’s successor, is now underway.

This is a role for an exceptional leader who can bring their own ideas, energy and passion to the charity. The requirement is wide ranging and demanding, from supporting successful fundraising to ensuring the delivery of exceptional, high quality patient care, to reporting to the board of trustees. We are a supportive and vibrant charity with a dedicated team culture and commitment to our core values and the community we serve. The new Chief Executive Officer will have a unique opportunity to lead a charity that really makes a difference to people’s lives.

Gillian Bryce, DSAA Chair of Trustees and part of the CEO selection panel said:

“Due to Bill’s retirement, the charity finds itself in a position to offer a fantastic opportunity, with great potential, for someone looking for an interesting, rewarding and fulfilling role in the South West of England. Since the charity was launched over 20 years ago, there has been ongoing development, improvement and growth in the service provided to the people of Dorset and Somerset and beyond. In 2019, the Board of Trustees underwent an independent review of the governance of the charity, which concluded that overall it was ‘Hugely Impressive, with Integrated Strategic Thinking, Strong Finances, Good Controls and Accountability and a Responsive/Living Policy.’ This is an exciting opening, offering the chance of working for a dynamic charity, alongside a team of friendly, talented and committed people, in a lovely part of the country where you will be able to really make an impact.”
