Nicola Cook no longer rides any form of bike, since being knocked off her moped by a car.

Nicola Cook patient story with cake

"I was hit by a car while riding my moped to work. I literally went over the front of the car and my body slid along the road until I finally came to a stop. It is an awkward junction, but the car driver claimed he couldn’t see me before he pulled out."

"Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance attended my incident along with a land ambulance and the police. All the emergency crews were very professional and came so very quickly! I had a brief period of unconsciousness and fortunately only suffered three broken fingers and numerous cuts and bruises. I’ve since not got on any form of bike and now drive a car."

"I wanted to say thank you for all your help and support – I am a regular supporter of your amazing charity and so grateful to be alive after such a nasty accident, even though I know it could have been so much worse. Everyone at Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is amazing!"
