Gift Aid Example

What is a Gift Aid declaration?

It’s a statement by an individual taxpayer that they want a charity to claim from HMRC the tax paid on their donation.

Claiming gift aid can significantly increase the income of a charity, at no extra cost to the supporter, meaning that more life changing money can go towards the cause.

How to make a Gift Aid declaration

You must give a declaration to each charity you donate to through Gift Aid. You can include all donations from the last 4 years.

There are three ways you can make a Gift Aid declaration:

  1. Tick the Gift Aid box when you donate online
