Race from the Base Pitstops and Parking

There is one pit stop along the 30km and 60km routes for cyclists to grab refreshments. The 100km route has two pit stops and is not suitable for those under 16.

The pit stops are safe areas for friends and family members to show their support.

The following locations are where cyclists can stop for refreshments and spectators can watch:

  • The Fiddleford Inn, Calves Close Lane Fiddleford, Sturminster Newton, DT10 2BX – 30km
  • Sandroyd School, Rushmore Park, Salisbury, SP5 5QD -  60km and 100km
  • The Yaxley’s, Damerham – 100km

Please ensure that vehicles being parked on the day are parked legally, relevant charges have been paid and you are not blocking any driveways or access points. We also politely ask that no photographs are taken at Sandroyd School.

Basecamp Village

There will be an array of fun filled activities and stalls within our  ‘Basecamp Village’ back at Henstridge Airfield, which is the start and finish location for Race from the Base.

For those taking part, Basecamp Village will be a great location for family and friends to enjoy, with plenty to keep them occupied. Members of the public are also welcome to join us, should they want to come along and show their support.

Henstridge Airfield Cafe will be open where food and drink will be available, or you can bring along a picnic and sit and soak up the atmosphere – all are welcome! Entrance is free, although we would love it if you could give an optional donation when you arrive.

Currently, our Basecamp Village includes the following, with more activities and stalls to be confirmed: Jolly Jumpers Bouncy Castle, Jens Ice Cream Van, Paul Ritchie’s Steam Engines, Keep 106 Radio, Espressoul Coffee Van, Giant Jigsaws, DocBike, Devon Freewheelers and Somerset Road Safety Team.
