Dorset County FA Women’s World Cup Summer Festival raises £500 for local air ambulance charity

Dorset County FA's Women's World Cup Summer Festival proved to be a tremendous success, raising £500 for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance!

Since the Charity of the Year partnership was established in 2021, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance has proudly assumed the naming rights of the Dorset Senior Trophy and has been the primary beneficiary of various events organised by Dorset County FA.

On the sunny weekend of June 3rd and 4th, talented girls' teams from across the county and beyond flocked to the County Ground to participate in the Women's World Cup Summer Festival.

The event featured teams spanning from Under-8 to Under-16 girls, each representing a FIFA Women's World Cup country. The atmosphere was vibrant and patriotic, with balloons, specially made shirts, flags, face paints, and more, making it a truly colourful weekend celebration!

The Dorset County FA Youth Leadership Group played a crucial role in raising funds for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance by selling sweets. Their efforts raised an impressive total of £500!

Thank you to everyone who made the event a success. Every penny raised really does make a huge difference and enables us to continue saving lives.

We are currently flying a different colour AW169 helicopter. G-MGPS (aka Nemo the orange and white stripe helicopter) arrived at Henstridge Airfield on Friday to replace G-PICU, which has gone off for maintenance.
