News News Spectacular Gala Ball raising funds in aid of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Media Release: 26 July 2022 A spectacular event is being held in aid of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) on Saturday 8th October, raising funds for the life-saving charity. ‘Mission Possible’ is a Gala Ball, being organised by Jo Sams and her husband Nigel Diment, owners of Ilsington House at Puddletown in Dorset. With the approximate cost of one air ambulance mission equating to £3,000, Jo and Nigel are hoping that this exclusive black-tie event will raise the cost of as many life-saving missions as possible. Tickets are now on sale, for what is expected to be a spectacular evening which will include a wonderful gala dinner provided by Molecular Magic, the fantastic Brighton-based ‘Brass Monkeys’ combining live DJ sets with stunning elements of live music playing favourite dance anthems and floor fillers late into the night, along with a few surprises and lots of fun throughout the evening. Guests will be encouraged to support the air ambulance throughout the night, which includes live and silent auctions with some incredible prizes on offer. Sponsorship and advertising opportunities are still available for those who wish to support in this way. Speaking of the Gala Ball and why they are raising funds for the DSAA, Jo Sams said: The DSAA are such a vital service for us all, yet they do not receive any direct funding from the Government or the National Lottery, relying solely upon the generosity of people like you and I. They help to save lives and improve outcomes when we need them the most and it is this that drives our passion to contribute to their fundraising challenge, through hosting the exciting Gala Ball at our home, Ilsington House, Puddletown. Please help us to raise as much as possible! You can do this by joining us for what will be a fantastic fun evening; discussing sponsorship and/or advertising opportunities with me, or by making a donation using this link: www.collectionpot.com/pot/3008903. No matter how large or small your donation, every penny counts in helping to make as many ‘Missions Possible’! Collection Pot DSAA Fundraising Manager, Emma Jones, said: DSAA operates 19 hours per day providing a critical care service using our AW169 helicopter and critical care car. We also provide an enhanced care service for 12 hours per day using our outreach cars. Each life-saving mission that our critical care team are tasked to costs approximately £3,000, so we are incredibly grateful for Jo and Nigel’s support in their mission to raise as much as possible. The sparkling reception starts at 6.30pm, with carriages at 1.00am. Tickets cost £90 per person and can be purchased individually or there are tables of 10 available for reservation.
