Our Impact News London Marathon 2025: DSAA’s fundraisers! It’s a wrap for London Marathon 2025! London Marathon took place on Sunday, 27th April, with thousands of participants raising money for charity. Among the record breaking 56,640 finishers this year, four incredible individuals ran in support of DSAA. A huge congratulations to Roberta, Caroline, Sarah, and Julie for taking on this challenge. We’re incredibly proud of their achievements and grateful for their fantastic fundraising efforts. Thank you from the DSAA team! DSAA’s London Marathon Runners Let's meet the runners! Caroline Williams Caroline completed the race in an amazing 5 hours 28 minutes. She has currently raised an amazing total of £1,150 for DSAA! Why did you choose to run for DSAA? “I work as a Duty Flying Supervisor and have had many dealings with the Air Ambulance facilitating their flying and coordinating their landings at Yeovilton to assist those civilians in distress, around the airfield and local area. The crews are so professional and always communicate their needs, making them easy to deal with and enabling us to help them to do the best job they can. Everyone loves and respects the amazing work that the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance do (and indeed - every air ambulance throughout the country), so I’m delighted to have raised some money to keep this valuable service going.” Do you have another marathon in the pipeline? “I’ll need to have a rest and a think about it first. I was 60 years old last month and have other things on my bucket list to tick off first - including a sky dive next month! 😮 🤣🤣” Donate to Caroline's Fundraiser Sarah Eades Outside of London, thousands all over the country took part in the virtual marathon, TCS London Marathon MyWay. Sarah was one of these people, completing the marathon in Dorset and raising over £700 for DSAA in the process. What was it like taking part in the virtual event? “My time was 8 hours 8 minutes 20 seconds. The weather was brilliant, and even walking on my own it was an amazing experience especially with the inspirational commentary from the official marathon app every half mile helping me feel I was really part of the event. My friends and colleagues have been very generous sponsoring me and I’ve raised just over £700.” Well done Sarah! Donate to Sarah's Fundraiser Julie Burden Julie completed the London Marathon last Sunday after lots of hard work and training. Well done Julie on such a fantastic achievement and thank you for all your efforts! Roberta McMillan Roberta is a 3rd year student paramedic. They are a remarkable charity that not only provides critical care, but also values teaching and clinical development.
