We held our third 5K Twilight Shift on Saturday 6th July and what an amazing day it was!

So many of our wonderful supporters took part, either running, walking, or jogging the 5km route around Henstridge Airfield, home to our life-saving crew and helicopter, Peggy.

A light breeze set participants on their way at 5.30pm, while the crew began their 'twilight shift' to continue their life-saving work into the night.

Participation Highlights

Off-duty crew members joined supporters who ran, jogged, or walked in memory of loved ones, as a personal challenge, or as a team. Some of the more experienced 5K challengers even carried extra weight on their backs, just like our crew needs to do when attending an incident. Many businesses participated in the event, including representatives from Albert Goodman, HK Law, 918 Coffee, Hazel & West.

There were also many businesses that also took part on the day, including representatives from Albert Goodman. Speaking on behalf of the team Mollie Howard, Human Resources at Albert Goodman said:

What a great Saturday evening spent running the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance 5K Twilight Shift! DSAA is a wonderful charity that we are all so proud to support. It was so much fun and was brilliant to see people of all abilities taking part. It was a really interesting route, and I met some amazing people. The t-shirt and cakes were a bonus!
