News / Events Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge Volunteer at the Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge If you have missed out on a place, have friends or loved ones taking part, or would simply like to give your time to help the Charity, we are always looking for volunteers who can help as route marshals or as general helpers at our Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge. Volunteers: Route Marshals Route marshals help to ensure the safety of participating cyclists by guiding them at key points along the 54-mile route from Watchet Harbour in Somerset to West Bay in Dorset. Main role/responsibilities of route marshals are to: Act as a presence on behalf of the Charity at designated marshal points along the route Provide guidance and directions to participating cyclists Marshal points must be manned at all times until the back rider/driver comes through Route marshals are not permitted to direct or stop traffic at any time. We have a number of marshal points that need manning in Dorset and Somerset: Newport Hill /A378 (Near Wrantage, Somerset) A378/Rock Hill (Near Wrantage, Somerset) Chillington Down/A30 (Near Cricket St Thomas, Somerset) B3162/A35 Burton Road roundabout (Bridport, Dorset) If you would be interested in helping us with this important role for our event, please complete the form below. VOLUNTEER AS A ROUTE MARSHAL Volunteers: General Helper The start/finish areas and pit stop locations of the event require careful planning and coordination from the Charity.
