During a cold December evening it was the end of season Horses (Bikes) and Hounds (Runners) race between two groups of middle aged men. The race of the year, the finale, the one we had all been waiting for, which unfortunately didn’t end as predicted. One of the cyclists suffered a massive heart attack and Cardiac Arrest.

Dave Parker was kept alive by CPR until paramedics arrived. They attached him to a defibrillator and shocked him back into rhythm. After being brought back to life the Air Ambulance was despatched to the scene to take him to hospital in Bournemouth.

Without the support of friends, paramedics and the valuable crew of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, Dave Parker would not be with us today.

The group from that night and with friends are intending to complete a sponsored Cycle from the point of injury to the home of the Air Ambulance and back, 58 miles in total. The event will take place on the weekend of the 12-13 May 2018.

With your support and generosity we are hoping to raise as much money as possible but aiming for £2500 to cover the mission cost for this very valuable asset.

Please give generously In aid of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance who helped in the recovery of Mr Dave Parker after his massive Cardiac Arrest.

This story has a great ending as Dave is well on the road to recovery and is intending to ride with us, even if on a tandem.

The Beeline will be covering Dave's story in full.
