My husband David collapsed at the Cheddar Leisure Centre with a cardiac arrest and stroke. He was resuscitated before being airlifted by the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance to hospital.
He was put on a life support machine and we were given the devastating news that there was no chance of recover. His life support was switched off and he regained consciousness and has maintained daily improvement!
The purpose of this letter is to thank everyone involved for the prompt and superb treatment you gave him whilst he was in your care. Without that, he certainly wouldn’t be here today! On behalf of my husband and my family, may I offer you all our heartfelt thanks and gratitude for all you did.
You are certainly my unsung heroes!

I am writing this in appreciation of your help in getting me to hospital after my altercation with a police car on March 18th. I am at last free from my surgical dressings and apart from a slight lack of confidence in walking am doing fine. I am also now driving again! Thanks and keep up the good work.

I am writing to say a huge thank you to the crew of the Air Ambulance who rescued me from the top of Eggardon Hill in April 2009. They were brilliant, as was the ambulance paramedic who attended me when I fell and broke my leg.
Thanks to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, I was in hospital very quickly and was able to have the operation needed to plate and screw the leg.

In August 2001 I was rescued by the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. I was in a field treating some thoroughbred mares, when one of them kicked me in the head. We were in an awkward place for a land ambulance so the air ambulance was called. I was unconscious and during the flight the crew did an emergency tracheotomy on me and I am told they brought me back to life.
I have limited mobility and use a wheelchair quite a lot, but have a good life and I will always be grateful to the Air Ambulance.

On June 14th I was involved in a RTA on the Porlock to Minehead A39 road. I was involved in a collision from the rear with a car whilst cycling and received multiple injuries. If it was not for the quick response and the professionalism of the crew of the air ambulance and the road ambulance I am sure the situation for me would have been a lot worse.

I was unfortunate enough to loose my footing whilst out walking at Worbarrow Bay on the Dorset coast. I was quite seriously injured and after dialling 999 the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance came to my rescue.
Mark and the crew were marvellous. Once they arrived the confidence they showed in rescuing me from a difficult location kept me calm and their treatment on the ground was expertly delivered. They were even empathetic to my fear of flying.
I am now well on the mend and just beginning to walk again. Can you please pass on my heartfelt thanks to the crew as they do a truly wonderful job!

12 months ago our daughter Celia was involved in a road traffic collision near Butleigh, Somerset and suffered multiple injuries including possibly spinal injuries. The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance were called and were able to take her from the scene to Frenchay Hospital.
A year on, and with the help of the team at Frenchay Hospital, her leg and ankle has been rebuilt and she is back to normal.
It is impossible to express fully our gratitude to all the emergency services. As always, it is one of those things that we gave little thought to, until we found ourselves suddenly in need of their help.
