  3. DSAA appoints new Chairman of Trustees

    March 28, 2012

    Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance announced the appointment of Simon Michell and Roger Morgan as Chairman and Vice-Chairman to the Board of Trustees earlier today. 

    The duo took over the reins from former Chairman, Terri Gill and Vice-Chairman Colin Harrisson.

    Simon has been on the board of trustees since 2006 and Roger since 2009. (more…)


  4. Heroic efforts inspire Brymore

    The heroic efforts of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance on a recent descent to Brymore School, near Cannington, has inspired it’s pupils to fundraise for the Charity.

    Brymore School Young Farmers Club, one of only a handful in the country to hold a school status, held a number of events which helped raise £100.

    During a presentation evening, the pupils got to hear about the work of the Charity and how their fundraising efforts would help enable the Air Ambulance to continue its vital work. (more…)


  5. Photographs by David Lindsley help keep us flying!

    David Lindsley is a Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance fundraiser who lives in Bournemouth with his wife Diana.

    The couple have paid eighteen visits to the American continent over the years, driving approximately 40,000 miles.  David’s hobby is photography and it is no surprise that his portfolio includes some stunning pictures of scenes from around the world.

    It was after an event which saw a close friend being thrown from her horse and needing the services of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance that David decided he wanted to show his support to the Charity.  He was amazed to find out that the Charity received no direct funding from the Government or the National Lottery and wanted to help.   8. Paul Nicholls Rocks!

    Somerset Trainer and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance supporter Paul Nicholls has had a great start to this years’ Cheltenham Festival.  Paul was offered a charity free bet which he promptly placed on ‘Rock on Ruby’ who subsequently beat odds-on favourite ‘Hurricane Fly’ to win the Champion Hurdle.

    Speaking on BBC Points West, Paul declared that the win of approximately £7,500 would be coming to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

  9. Queen Camel Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

    The village of Queen Camel are planning an action packed weekend to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee at the beginning of June.  Some of their events are in support of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.  The weekend schedule is listed below.  This is subject to minor changes so please visit the Queen Camel website for the latest up-to-date information (listed below).

  10. Automotive Spectacular – 30th June 2012 – Yeovil

    Classic car and motorcycle registrations for the Automotive Spectacular event to be held in Yeovil on 30th June are coming in fast.  This event, organised by the Rotary Club of Yeo Vale and the Western Gazette, will raise funds for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (and other Rotary charities).

    Entries are welcomed from Car Clubs who wish to exhibit collectively and from individuals whose cars or classic motorcycles will be exhibited in suitablegroups. The cost of registration is just £5 per car including entry for up to 4 individual passengers. For more details orto download a Registration Form please go to www.automotivespectacular.co.uk

    The event is being held at the Ivel Barbarians Rugby club on the outskirts of Yeovil where there are excellent club house facilities with a wide range of food and a bar open all day.  Main Dealers will be present with their latest vehicles on show and smaller companies which offer a range of services for enthusiastic car owners.
