Concert of a variety of music of all types in our beautiful Minster Church with very good Acoustic properties. This is a return visit of this choir, who have sung in many prestigious venues (including the American Embassy) so we can be assured of a good evening .The programme of music looks exciting, from a Selection from Les Miserables, to Calm the Sea, Amazing Grace and Rhythm of Life. We also have a few items by a local Soprano – again with very melodic music choices.
Seats are un-numbered, but a good view for all, programme and simple refreshments at the back of the church are included in the ticket price.

Dr. Paul Atterbury Hon. DPhil BA (Hons.)is one of the UK’s best known antiques experts, playing a leading role for 24 years in the BBC Antiques Roadshow, as it travels across the nation. With his trademark striped blazers and amazing in-depth knowledge, he alternatively delights and disappoints the public who bring in their treasures.
A gifted broadcaster, his easy manner fits well with one of the UK’s longest running and most popular television programmes. His mother was the hand that controlled Andy Pandy and the Flower Pot Men. Born in London and educated at Westminster School, Paul Atterbury gained knowledge at Sotherbys and Royal Doulton, becoming established as a writer on ceramics, antiques, design, sculpture and silver.
Today, he lectures extensively across the world and on cruise ships. A long association with the Victoria and Albert Museum led to curating four major exhibitions there – including Pugin, a Gothic passion – plus others at UK and American museums. He has written over 40 books, a best-selling railway and canal author. Paul Atterbury’s most recent book is topically The First World War in 100 family stories. We are holding a motorbike festival and ride out in memory of a close friend who tragically lost his life in an accident this year. He supported the air ambulance and April’s Joan’s Trust which is where all donations shall go to.
He was also very much a family man with two small children so we will ensure it is a family event including stalls, bouncy castles, games etc.
There will be a motorbike ride out roughly between 10am -12pm. We will still have people at the event during this period.
We hope to have a live band also playing and cars and bikes on show.
The fair is held every two years and is organised by Milton Abbas Street Fair Trust. All proceeds go to local charities, including Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
