HOLDING A SPONSORED EVENT
Running a Marathon, Climbing a mountain, or simply organising a sponsored skip at school are just a few of the sponsored events people organise in aid of the DSAA.
Here are some of our valuable ‘Hints and Tips’ ……...
- Firstly, make sure you contact us and ask for a Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Sponsorship Form to be sent to you.
- Try and get as many sponsors as you possible can.
- Start your sponsor form off with the most generous sponsor! (If the first person gives you £5 or £10 then this sets a trend for others to follow.
- Take the sponsorship form with you wherever you go – you never know you are going to bump into!
- DON’T FORGET TO GIFT AID IT! – Any UK taxpayer can tick the gift aid box on the sponsorship form. This allows the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance to claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated.
- Try to collect the pledge straight away as some people can forget they owe you money.
- Raise money online! – Why not set-up your very own fundraising page. It’s easy, fast and very secure! Visit www.justgiving.com or call us for further information.
- Match-giving – Some employers / companies are able to boost contributions by matching any funds raised by employees. Why not check with your manager if your employer will do this.
- Once your experience is over – tell everyone about it, especially us!
- Remember to return your sponsorship form to us. (Even if it’s a photocopy). This will enable our office to check it and claim any Gift Aid back.
