National Volunteers’ Week

June 3, 2016 by Lara Lucas

Volunteers-Week-logoVolunteer’s Week is taking place from the 1st – 12th June. This year, the national event will take place for an additional five days to enable more people than ever to take part and celebrate.

Volunteers’ Week is an annual event which celebrates the contribution made by millions of volunteers across the UK. It is run by NCVO in partnership with Volunteer Development Scotland, Volunteer Now (Northern Ireland) and Wales Council for Voluntary Action. Over 21 million people volunteer in the UK at least once a year and this contributes an estimated £23.9bn to the UK economy. Behind these big numbers is an even bigger contribution.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our wonderful volunteers for their continued help and support; their dedication to the Charity is amazing! Our volunteers work incredibly hard and without them, we would not be able to provide the support that we do.

Although Volunteers’ Week gives us the opportunity to show our appreciation to our volunteers, we will also be highlighting the fantastic work that they do throughout the year.
