Live Tweets from 999 Control Room

April 28, 2016 by Tracy

Have you ever wondered what it is like to work a shift in a busy 999 control room?

The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASfT) is giving you the chance to go behind the scenes and experience some of the challenges that their call handlers face every single day as they hold a live ‘tweetathon’  on Friday 29th April.

The event will follow action from the Exeter Control Room during a 12-hour shift from 6am until 6pm.  The Trust manages more than 2,500 incidents a day, offering help, advice and reassurance. This shift is expected to be particularly busy as it leads up to the early May Bank Holiday weekend.
