Joy Kitteridge

Friends of the late Joy Kitteridge from Swanage in Dorset have paid tribute to her by donating £476 to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Members of the Studland Sequence Dancing Club, Mo Jivers and Swanage Table Tennis Group sadly lost their much loved friend Joy Kitteridge this January. During the last 18 months of her life, Joy actively co-ordinated fundraising efforts amongst her friends via monthly raffles and Christmas collections instead of sending each other cards. To honour the memory and wishes of Joy, her friends decided to give donations at her funeral service instead of giving flowers.

Dorset fundraising co-ordinator Leanne Colverson, visited Studland Village Hall on 2nd April and was humbled to receive the money from Joy’s daughter Christine Godson and Ann Figg, leader of the Studland Sequence Group. Joy’s friend Susan Upton said: “Everyone was saying what a lovely evening it had been and how much more they now knew about the work done by the air ambulance. We will continue our raffles and send the proceeds after our ’Don't send Christmas cards - put something in the box event’."
