1. Port Regis School donate an incredible £13,500!

    £13,500 presented to DSAAChildren from Port Regis handed over a cheque for £13,500 to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance this week.  The money was raised through a number of fundraising events during the year, most notably a May Gala Dinner for parents. 

    Head of Charities at Port Regis, Tom Murray, said: “Port Regis supports a different charity each year and we are delighted to donate these funds to one of the most worthwhile local charities in our area.  The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is A SUPERB charity that saves countless lives each year within OUR community. I would like to thank all the parents, staff and children who contributed to the fundraising, as well as local businesses for their generous donation of prizes for the auction.”

    Bill Sivewright, CEO of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, added: “Without access to direct funding from the Government, the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is totally reliant on the generosity of the public to deliver our vital service.  This donation represents a significant boost to our operating funds representing, as it does, the cost of around 5 missions. 

    " It is worth remembering that each one of those could be a life saved.  It is also important to note, that donations such as this record confidence in our service that will help it to develop and go on to save many more lives in the future.  So, Port Regis School should be very proud of their achievement and the contribution that they have made on behalf of their local community.”

    Dasher meets the childrenDorset and Somerset Air Ambulance were thrilled that their charity mascot named ‘Dasher’ could be present at the cheque presentation.  The children were delighted to be able to meet the bright yellow character who brought a smile to so many young faces.


  2. Rally Car features DSAA in France!

    Tim and Steve Jones Rally CarBrothers Tim and Steve Jones of Formula Cars Volvo based near Wellington took to the track once again and put on a great show - this time in France.  They took part in the WRC Rallye de France Alsace 2014 which saw the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance brand, spray painted on both sides of the Ford Fiesta 1.6 Zetec S rally car fly round the track! 

    Tracy Bartram, Communications Manager for the charity said: "We are thrilled that Tim and Steve have chosen to support us in this way.  The relationship began a number of years ago and has continued ever since.  It's fantastic publicity for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and it will help raise awareness of the important work that all Air Ambulances do on a national scale."

  3. Wells Holiday Park girls go LOOMY!

    Wells holiday parkIndie-Eve and Jade Wilton from Wells Holiday Park have been making loom band bracelets and such, selling them in the reception of the holiday park to raise money for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.  Fundraising Support Assistant, Luke Cholawo visited the park recently and the girls presented him with £68.46 which they had raised!  Well done girls and a big thank you from us all for your support!

  5. Wimborne Fly Fisher Group donate £600

    Wimborne Fly Fisher GroupDorset and Somerset Air Ambulance volunteer Joy Whittingham paid a visit to the Wimborne Fly Fisher Group to receive a cheque on behalf of the charity.  The group took part in the Tony Clyde Fly Fishing Challenge on the 13th September 2014 and raised £600 which they decided would be donated to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

    Joy had a great evening and provided the group with a talk about the work of the air ambulance and how their donation would make a difference to so many peoples lives.  A very big thank you from our team!
