  2. Bridgwater Half Marathon – 7th September 2014

    BWHM PosterBridgwater Half Marathon returns for its third year on 7th September 2014 at Morganians Rugby Club raising money for various charities, including Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. The race incorporates a 5K Fun Run and for the first time both races will be timed using timing chips, with on the day publication of the results.

    With a slightly amend route to previous year’s the Bridgwater Half Marathon entry fees are remaining the same - £17.50 for UKA non-affiliated entrants, £15 for affiliated entrants and £7.50 for Fun Run entrants.

  3. National Air Ambulance Awards: Nominations now Open!

    Award Winners 2013The Association of Air Ambulances is today calling on all of the UK’s air ambulance community to nominate an individual or team for this year’s Air Ambulance Awards of Excellence. These prestigious, independent awards honour the exceptional contributions of staff and volunteers in the UK air ambulance community. 

    The Air Ambulance Awards of Excellence were held for the first time last year and were a great success. Nominations are now open so the entire sector’s most inspirational people get the recognition they deserve. The Awards are judged by a panel of experts, chaired by Guy Opperman MP, and presented at a gala dinner in London on 17 November.

    National Director of the Association of Air Ambulances, Clive Dickin, said, "Last year’s ceremony was a wonderful occasion where everyday heroes were recognised, and these awards will once again reflect the incredible dedication to duty of all those involved in the air ambulance sector.  Paramedics, doctors, pilots, charity staff and volunteers will have the chance to be honoured for the amazing work they do for patients on a daily basis.” 

    Nominations are now sought in the following categories:

    • Outstanding Young Person Award
    • Charity Staff Member of the Year
    • Air Ambulance Paramedic of the Year
    • Air Ambulance Doctor of the Year
    • Air Ambulance Pilot of the Year
    • Air Ambulance Campaign of the Year
    • Charity Volunteer of the Year
    • Special Incident Award
    • Lifetime Achievement Award
