Rainy Day Car Rally raises funds

NYD vintage car runThis year’s Vintage and Classic Car Run raised £1,500 for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.  Despite the bad weather, more than 100 vehicles took part in the 38 mile rally which started at Sturminster Newton.  Apparently the weather could not have been worse.  The torrential rain meant donations collected on the day had to be dried out before being deposited in the bank!  One thing was for sure, the event could not have taken place without the amazing support of the participants, volunteer marshals and donation collectors.

Organiser Ray Long said: “We are very pleased with the amount we raised despite the weather.  We would like to thank Philip Hart for his continuing generous sponsorship and support on the day and to everyone who got involved.  Next year will be our 20th anniversary, so we are hoping to do something special to celebrate.”
