1. Martin Clunes and Buckham Fair to aid Air Ambulance

    February 12, 2014 by Tracy

Buckham FairWe are absolutely delighted to announce that Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance are to be the beneficiaries of this year’s highly acclaimed Buckham Fair which takes place on Sunday August 17th 2014.

We were fortunate enough to work with Martin, Philippa and their organising committee back in 2011 where the event raised a staggering £34,000 for the Charity.

Buckham Fair 3Buckham Fair began in 2008.  After moving to their farm in 2007, Martin and Philippa bought a new plot of land, one of the few pieces of flat land in Beaminster.  They realised that the land would be perfect to hold an old-fashioned type Fair, perfect for the community to have fun and also raise money for local charities.  In fact, they since found out that there is an Ancient Charter that allows the holder of the land to hold a Fair each year!Buckham Fair 2

Keen horse, pony and dog lovers, they also wanted to include a small pony and dog show.  The classes in both have grown year on year and now the schedule is packed full and the Fair has grown bigger and better!

To date, it has raised over £112,000 for local charities.

We really can’t wait for this year’s event and hope many of our supporters will join us on the day.  To find out more Dog Stopinformation on the event and how you can get involved, visit: www.buckhamfair.co.uk
