  1. Emergency Services Day Success

    Hundreds of people met members of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) team on Sunday when they took part in an Emergency Services Day.

    The Air Ambulance’s yellow Euro 135 helicopter landed in Vivary Park, Taunton, where Avon and Somerset Constabulary and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue also put on a road traffic accident demonstration. (more…)


  2. Charity Golf Day

    We are pleased to announce a Charity Golf Day being held in aid of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and our colleagues at Devon Air Ambulance on Tuesday 10th May 2011.

    This is an annual event, held at the Lyme Regis Golf Club which is organized by the Rotary Clubs of Lyme Regis and Axminster. (more…)


  3. Garden centre selects its charities of the year

    STAFF at Sanders Garden World in Brent Knoll have selected the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance as one of its’ four charities of the year for 2011.

    The award-winning garden centre looks set to host a series of fundraising activities in the coming year.

    Peter Burks, General Manager of Sanders Garden World, explained: “The charities we will help fundraise for this year are: Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance based in Wellington, bibic near Bridgwater, Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service (Freewheelers EVS) from Burnham-on-Sea and Secret World at East Huntspill near Highbridge.   5. Shirley Allum Fashion Show

    Shirley Allum is holding a Fashion Show on Thursday 31st March at the Hotel Grosvenor in Shaftesbury.  The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance are one of four charities being supported at this event.

    The afternoon show begins at 3pm and the evening show starts at 7pm.

    There will be a superb raffle after both shows and tickets are available from Shirley by contacting: 01747 852444.


  6. Taunton Emergency Services Day – SOS appeal

    People planning to spend a day in the park with the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) this week are being asked to take along any unwanted shoes or other footwear.

    The Air Ambulance will be recruiting members for its Save Old Soles (SOS) fund-raising campaign during the free family day out in Taunton’s Vivary Park from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday, March 20.

    The Emergency Services Day also features the other Westcountry emergency services and charities with whom the Air Ambulance works closely. (more…)


  7. Footballers help to clear clogs for Air Ambulance

    Two AFC Bournemouth footballers paid a surprise visit to the town’s Castlepoint shopping park to support this week’s ‘Clear out your Clogs’ footwear recycling initiative.

    Lyle Taylor and Marc Pugh were helping to promote the week-long scheme, which is feeding into the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance’s (DSAA) recently-launched Save Old Soles (SOS) fund-raising campaign

    Castlepoint’s ‘Clear out your Clogs’ is using two shoe banks outside the Marks and Spencer store on the mall, where people can pop in any unwanted shoes or other footwear. (more…)

    Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance calls for recipe support

    An appeal is being launched today for people to come forward with their favourite family recipes for a charity cookbook to raise money for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

    Supporters of the Air Ambulance are being called upon to visit the specially created website www.eattogether.co.uk and upload their best breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack recipes. (more…)

    Air Ambulance to join family day in the park

    Residents of Dorset and Somerset will have an opportunity later this month to spend a day in the park with their Air Ambulance team and members of other emergency services with whom they work closely.

    The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance’s (DSAA) yellow Euro 135 helicopter will, subject to commitments, land in Vivary Park, Taunton, on Sunday, March 20. (more…)
