  1. West Somerset students support air ambulance

    STUDENTS at West Somerset Community College held a fundraising week in aid of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

    The Year 12 Business Enterprise students held a week of activities including a non-school uniform day, a sixth form Blind Date, and a cake sale.

    Teacher of Business Studies, Caroline Daye said: “The students worked well as a team and learned a lot about themselves and each other while raising a total of £537 for this worthy cause.” (more…)


  2. Chelwood Bridge Inner Wheel Present £1,000

    Our thanks go to members of Chelwood Bridge  Inner Wheel for donating £1,000 to our Charity.

    The money was raised at the club’s Ferret Race fundraising night.

  4. Thanks Go To Ilminster Lions!

    Ilminster Lions were formed in 1976 and have been raising funds for local, national and international causes ever since.

    Members of the club recently visited the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance airbase and presented a cheque for £2,000 to the crew.

  5. Sainsburys announce Bag a Bra to support Air Ambulance

    Customers of Sainsbury’s supermarket in Talbot Heath, Poole, will be able to donate their unwanted bras next week in aid of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA).

    The supermarket is supporting the Charity’s Bag a Bra campaign as part of a year of fund-raising for the DSAA.

    Bras of any colour, size, and quality can be taken to the store from January 16 to 27 during its opening hours. (more…)


  6. Cornish Mutual Launch New Campaign in Aid of Air Ambulances

    This year the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is delighted to be receiving the support of South West rural insurance firm Cornish Mutual.

    The company is launching a new initiative at the end of February called ‘Come Together, Eat Together’ with the aim of encouraging people to enjoy a meal with their family at least once a week and are raising funds for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance in the process.

    The campaign will look at the fascinating relationships between the home, family, food and eating. (more…)


  7. A cuppa for Charity

    Staff at Southern Electric’s Salisbury depot in Wilton proved that having a welcome cuppa is good for charity as well as for the taste buds.

    This year they decided to pay 20p for each cup they took from their coffee machine, and after paying for their supplies they netted £138, which they decided to give to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

    Kimberley Lowe and Phil Tobin recently visited the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance airbase to hand over a cheque to Annette Plaistow- Trapaud, (DSAA fundraising coordinator). (more…)


  8. 23rd Dorchester Beerex Supports Dorset And Somerset Air Ambulance

    23RD DORCHESTER BEEREX SUPPORTS DORSET AND SOMERSET AIR AMBULANCEDorchester Beerex is an annual event, jointly organised by the Dorchester Round Table and West Dorset CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), which has raised more than £60,000 for local charities and good causes over the last 22 years.

    The main sponsor of the event is Dorset Piddle Brewery, however many other local businesses can also support the festival by sponsoring a cask of beer for £75.

    This years’ event which is taking place on the 4th and 5th February 2011 is taking place at the Corn Exchange in Dorchester and we are delighted that the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) has been selected as the events’ main charity. (more…)
