The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Charity Shield is taking place this Saturday 2nd May 2009 at Dorchester Town Football Club (Jewson Stadium).
Kick off is at 10.00am with 16 Teams competing throughout the day. Dorchester Timber, one of the event sponsors is entering a team led by Roy Hallett, whose son David tragically died earlier this year and whose name the event is in memory of. Vince Bartram – ex- Arsenal goalkeeper will be turning out in goal for Dorchester Timber, as David was an avid Arsenal Fan. “It’s a pleasure to be asked to play in such a special and emotional tournament for Roy and his family. When I was asked I had no hesitation in getting my gloves out of hibernation especially for such a great cause. Win or lose – I am sure we will have a great day and hope the event is well supported,” explained Vince.
Spectators are more than welcome on the day with entry fees £2. The final is to be played at 5.00pm with a Karaoke night planned in the evening at the club (£5 entrance).
